About us
Birmingham & Black Country Community Foundation (BBCCF) is an independent, cause neutral charity.
We are a registered Charity (set up via the Charity Commission in 1995) dedicated to helping local people find local solutions to local community needs from the grassroots up working in Birmingham and the Black Country.
We are members of a national framework called Community Foundation Network (which was set up in 1991) and there are currently 57 community foundations based in the UK.
Our unique approach to philanthropy allows individuals and businesses to support their own specific local interests and causes enabling them to invest in the future of their community.
Our in-depth knowledge of local communities and grant making, allows us to connect people and businesses who care about their local community, with voluntary organisations, community groups and local charities who do the hands-on work to make a real difference where we live:
- Our purpose is to promote and support local giving; to create a sustainable long term pot of money (an endowment) that will benefit our communities forever
- We provide a high quality, efficient and effective service for grant making into local communities through a robust end-to-end process, from application to evaluation
We have a diverse range of partners: Local Authorities, Government and national charities: Big Lottery and Comic Relief, Corporates, SME’s, philanthropic families and individuals to name but a few; see: Our Donor Partners
“We manage funds, build endowment and act as the vital link between local donors and local needs”
We are proud of what is being achieved by the communities we support - helping to strengthen the community today and forever; see: Community Case Studies
“We target grants that make a difference to the lives of people in Birmingham and the Black Country”
